Your daily Grind
Now that Joe is roasting 100% (JoRo100) of its beans and and you can buy them in store or have them sent to you the very day they are roasted, let's talk about how to get the most out of them, i.e. grinding them right before usage.
As soon as beans are ground they start to stale. That amazing smell of freshly ground coffee is as ethereal and fleeting as a memory in just a few minutes. I say this because I think that a lot of people out there don't know this and just automatically get their beans ground.
Now, Joe is not snobby about coffee; we just want you to enjoy your coffee. We will always grind it for you if you ask and we won't roll our eyes. But if you want the best tasting coffee you can get, and are already spending the money buying craft/artisanal coffee, you should think about investing in a grinder for home.
The one I use at home and love for user-friendliness is the Breville Smart Grinder. However, if the price tag is too high for you, just look for any burr grinder, as opposed to a blade grinder. Blade grinders chop beans into irregular sizes while burr grinders crush the beans into uniform sizes, which is better for even extraction. There is much more to this story, but to keep it quick, that's the main reason to choose burr grinders. To read more about burrs vs. blades, you can read this page on Whole Latte Love.
Final word: Anyway you enjoy drinking your coffee is the right way. Especially if you are enjoying Joe coffee...;)
