Sarah Peck
Sarah is a 3rd generation native New Yorker, hailing from the biggest, most beautiful Brooklyn. She is also known as Speck. After stints at such fine educational institutions as Hampshire College and The New School, Speck learned to barista while working at Halcyon on Smith St. Deejay Speck became a latte pro and a serious vinyl junkie. She has also worked in music marketing/promotions for underground music. She collects house, hip hop, soul, funk, breaks, dub and downtempo. Speck recently moved back home from San Francisco, where she worked in management at Peet's Coffee & Tea and had her first child, daughter Frieda Charisse. She favors an African coffee poured through a Chemex or a cold-brewed iced coffee. In her fantasies, she sees herself alternately becoming a traveling fashion photographer, running a bed and breakfast in Bali, or growing organic produce in upstate New York. She will probably stay mostly in Brooklyn, to succeed Marty Markowitz as Borough President.
